Youth Seminar 'Sustainable Consumption: why our everyday choices matter' (Berlin)

When is it?
Friday, 1 – Monday, 4 November 2019

What is it about?
‘Sustainable Consumption: why our everyday choices matter’ is a four-day seminar that will explore environmental and sustainability themes through everyday topics such as transport, fashion and food. This event will take place in Berlin and will culminate in a morning discussion session at the British Embassy there.

During the weekend, you will take part in workshops, discussions and debates - sharing your ideas and opinions on these topics with other young people from the UK and Germany. Together you will explore the impact of consumer choices, discuss the challenges that we as individuals face, and shape a collective presentation of young people's views on the theme.

Who can apply?

  • Pupils aged 16-19 who are still in full-time education (we will accept multiple applications per school).
  • UK residents
  • Those demonstrating a strong interest in the themes detailed above, as well as a clear interest in discussing the topic with UK and German peers, and, ideally, some prior involvement in similar activities or other projects related to the themes

German language skills are not required for the seminar. Some German language elements will be included in the seminar but you don't need any prior knowledge and/or translations will be provided.
