Another early start for us, 7.40 at Innsbrucker Platz, ready to explore a local primary school. A massive old school, not unlike Rückert Gymnasium. First lesson was with year 6,who had been reading Tom Sawyer and had prepared the fence whitewashing scene, complete with learnt lines and props. Our group had prepared a short bio of Mark Twain which they presented. Next was a lively maths lesson, with interactive whiteboard games and buzzers, followed by a year 5 group who had prepared lots of questions for interviews and proceeded to grill the Brits with a wide selection of sometimes quite personal questions! And an impromptu Happy Birthday song in English from the class for Molly.
Off back to our own school for two more grammar lessons, including a birthday cake and this time Happy Birthday in German.
We rounded off the day with a double German lesson continuing the theme of jobs to finance University.
The school day ended at 3.15, but the partners had already set up the rest of the day's s entertainment, where most of them went off swimming at the Badeschiff and visited the East Side Gallerie.
