List of travellers
In 1996 EU regulations changed, relaxing visa stipulations for school visits.
For school visits to Germany with children whose passports are non-EU, teachers can fill in a 'list of travellers' form to apply for a waiver scheme.
In order to use the list of travellers, any non-EU pupils must:
- Be a pupil at a general education school or Sixth Form College. NB. Further Education (FE) colleges in the UK are not eligible to use the list of travellers
- Be on an organised school trip with their own school and be accompanied by a teacher from their school
- Have their own valid passport
- Be legally resident in the UK.
Please read the information on the procedure provided on the British Council website carefully before filling in the form: www.britishcouncil.org
Please note: applications for the list of travellers must be made at least two weeks before the date of departure.
Collective passports
A collective (or group) passport is an easy and cost-effective way for organised groups of young people to travel to Germany.
To find out who can use a collective passport and how to apply for one, please visit the British Government website: https://www.gov.uk
